Ozil Out Of Arsenal Soon

Arsenal and Mesut Ozil have been working on their relationship for five years now. When do you call it quits? Sooner may be better than later.

No one will ever question the skill level of Mesut Ozil, nor his accomplishments. The man has won it all, on the biggest stage while playing a key role in it all and he has set records upon records at the highest level, some of which has been done at Arsenal.

Yet, for as much as you can’t hide from his skill level, you also can’t hide from the questions of his compatibility with the Gunners. He has done so much, and it’s marvelous, but talent along doesn’t always make you a good fit.

With Unai Emery coming in to take over for Arsene Wenger, Ozil’s place was further tossed into chaos, because he didn’t fit what Emery seemed to want to do. Not much could be done, though, as Ozil had just signed a massive new deal worth a presumed £350,000. You can’t just undo that, even if you wanted to.We are four games into the season and Ozil is getting further and further away from the point we wanted him to be at as of about two years ago. He has struggled to find his footing in a league that just doesn’t jive with his style, and there’s no shame in that. But there is shame in the Gunners insistence that they can make this connection work if it just isn’t there.
